Hi,

I believe I saw the district variable but was unable to find municipality or ward. Is there any way I can find the municipality or ward of the respondents. I will be grateful even if I know the cluster number of Karnali and SudurPaschim Provinces. Thank you.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

There are no codes for municipalities or wards. If you open the HR file and enter "tab hv001 hv024" you will see that Karnali (hv024=6) has clusters (hv001) 354 through 414 and SudurPaschim (hv024=7) has clusters 415-476. You may be able to make some inferences about lower-level locations based on GIS coordinates but the coordinates of the clusters have been displaced. Of course, the cluster numbers in the data files are different from any numbers or labels in the sampling frame.
