Hi,

How can I find the husband's family history of domestic violence in NFHS 5 data? I know of a study that inferred this from NFHS 3 data but I am unsure of how to find it in the most recent data set in Stata.

Thank you.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

The variables in IAIR7DFL.dta that start with the letter d, such as d101a, describe the respondent's history of domestic violence, in which the perpetrator was the husband (or, for some questions, any man). All the reported actions occurred in the past but the time when they occurred is not specified. The questions and variables are much the same in the NFHS-3, -4, and -5. You can look at the labels of the variables and look at the questionnaire(s) to decide what you want to use.
