When looking at the 2015 Nepal SPA survey, there appears to be data in the raw data file for "IMPAC guidelines at the facility" however in there is no data for the variable in the recoded dataset. We are wondering if it was dropped for a reasons? Or whether it was recoded in a different way? and if not, how could we go about getting the data into the recoded dataset?

To ascertain the actual reason for the exclusion of the variable, it would be best to refer to the documentation or consult the researchers or data analysts involved in the survey or dataset preparation. They would have better insights into the specific decisions made during data cleaning and recoding.
Data quality: It is possible that the variable was removed due to issues with data quality. This can include missing values, inconsistent data entry, or other errors that make the variable unreliable or unusable.

Relevance: The variable may have been deemed less relevant or not aligned with the objectives of the analysis or research. In some cases, certain variables are excluded to focus on specific aspects or to simplify the dataset.

Collinearity: The variable may have been highly correlated with another variable(s) already included in the dataset. In such cases, including both variables could introduce multicollinearity, which affects the statistical analysis and interpretation of results.

Sample-specific reasons: Depending on the survey design, specific variables may not be applicable or captured for all respondents. If the "IMPAC guidelines at the facility" variable was only relevant for a subset of respondents, it might have been dropped for the overall recoded dataset.
