Dear Sara,

Hope you are well. I am working with Bangladesh 2017 SPA.
I would personally be inclined to focus on insulin (final report table 8.2), as this is a truly life-saving medicine for which 80% availability is essential. I would also like to know which types of insulin were measured (specific long/short acting, mixed, human/analogues, etc.).

I would be very grateful for your help with this matter.

Regards,
Shakim

Hi Shakim,
The best way to know exactly was measured for each variable is to look at the questionnaires located in the appendix of each final report. For Bangladesh 2017 SPA (https://dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/SPA28/SPA28.pdf) on page 213 you can see the section of the questionnaire which includes insulin. The question asks about INSULIN INJECTIONS [ANTI DIABETIC], so we can conclude that any injectable insulin was included in the variable.

Best,
Sara
