District variable 2003 & 2008/9 [message #22767]

Hi everyone, I am looking at the DHS survey data from 2003 and 2008/9 and only the western districts of Kenya. My question is regarding the district variable "shdist"/"sdist". In the dataset 2003 the variable clearly statet which district it is, e.g. Bungoma. In 2008/9 the variable is numeric from 1-8. Now in 2003 if I remove the labels then we see that the districts are coded from 801-808. Bungoma is 801 and Butere Mumias is 808. Can I assume that "801" in 2003 will be the same district as "1" in 2008/9 and "808" in 2003 will be the same as "8" in 2008/9?
If no, how else can I figure out which number is code for which district in 2008/9. The GPS data does not seem to have any longitude/latidude data in it.
