Hello,

I am working with the variable recording alcohol use by women's partners in Colombia. I saw that Colombia 2015 has all missing values for the variables d113 and d114.
Is that information available somewhere else or was it simply not collected?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I am working with data on tobacco and alcohol use in Colombia, and women's tobacco use during pregnancy. The DHS report of the survey contains information about the data, but Colombia 2015 has all missing values in the IR and BR datasets. Was this data collected?

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

I just looked at the report, including the appendix with the questionnaire, and the IR file. Questions 430 and 431 are about whether the woman smoked cigarettes while pregnant, and if so, how many per day. There are responses only for the most recent pregnancy, and smoking was rare. Less than 2% of women say they smoked during the most recent pregnancy. Otherwise, all the variables about smoking (v463*) are NA for all cases.

You suggest that the report includes information about tobacco use, but I don't see it. Can you be more specific about where you see this in the report?
