The child labor variables are not described in the DHS Recode Manual. In recent surveys, child labor variables might start with the letters: CHL, and could be country specific names in others. For country specific questions/variables, the variables are generally named and coded in the same way as they were on the questionnaire. The variable will have a leading "SH" if the question was asked at the household level, a leading "S" if asked at the women's level, and a leading "SM" if asked at the men's level (followed by the actual question number).
To find surveys with child labor questions, you can do a survey search, for the characteristics: "child labor". To find what the variables actually contain, please reference the questionnaires in the appendix of the final country report.
