Hi,

I have a question regarding DHS's data on regions and sub-regions. In the survey questionnaires for 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013, I see that there is an "Identification" section which gathers info on "province", "city/municipality" and "barangay" (smallest administrative unit of the Philippines). However, I do not see this information as variables in the dataset. It seems that these are asked in each round of the survey, so should exist for these four years. Conversely, the more detailed "GPS datasets" are only available for 2003 and 2008.

My question is how can I access these variables for each survey round? Knowing which province and municipality each respondent belongs to is central to my empirical strategy so I would like to request access to this data (not necessarily the GPS data, but just the province/municipality variables in the household and individual questionnaires). Any information on the procedure to access this would be great - thank you.

My second question is, for Philippines' 2013 data, will there eventually be a corresponding GPS dataset?

Many thanks!
