Following is a response from Senior DHS Specialist, Ladys Ortiz:

The Health Expenditure is a country specific module in the Dominican Republic DHS 2013, and it was applied in a subsample of the households selected (one out of two - half of the households ). The questions were asked to all members eligible (see questionnaires at the end of the final report).

The Health Expenditure questionnaire includes topics like:
- Economic characteristics of all household members 10 + years of age
- Health
- Health service
- Health expenditure
- Health insurance

You can use the variable SHSELEC to identify the households selected for this module.
