I hope all of you doing fine. I am working with some household survey data and facing small confusion about how to treat missing values for few indicators. Some variables show "not applicable," some show real missing, and I am not sure which method is correct for cleaning before analysis. I usually try to follow proper steps, because in my other work where I look at estimating outsourcing services, even small mistake in initial data can change whole result. So I want to make sure I am doing this part right before I continue with the calculations. If anyone can explain simple approach for handling these missing values or share any guideline from DHS, I will be very thankful.
