Thanks for your question. These survey datasets belong to the same survey - you can confirm this by going to the survey datasets page for this survey: https:// dhsprogram.com/data/dataset/Angola_Standard-DHS_2015.cfm?fla g=1. The GE file uses the shortened survey year, which is the principal year in which the survey was conducted.

You can also find more information on the survey year for any survey on The DHS Program API: https:// api.dhsprogram.com/rest/dhs/surveys?surveystatus=all&f=h tml. There is a SurveyYear field, as well as a SurveyYearLabel field. The SurveyYear provides the principal year in which the survey was conducted (which is what is in the GE file), and then the SurveyYearLabel field provides the range of years in which fieldwork took place.
