Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

There may be some confusion here. We do not have information about the siblings of the respondent, other than from the mm variables in the sibling history, which are about the survival and cause of death of the siblings. The other variables in the IR file, such as v106 and v501, refer to the respondent herself.

Only a few DHS surveys, none of them recent, have included sibling histories as part of the interview with men. Except for those surveys, there are no mm variables in the MR file.
