The dried blood spots were transferred to the ICMR - National AIDS Research Center for storage and analysis. That laboratory is responsible for analyzing the DBS for HbA1C and Vitamin D. A subsample of the DBS were sent to the ICMR - National Institute for Malaria Research laboratory to analyze several malaria indicators. Although the blood sample were collected as part of the NFHS-5 fieldwork, the analysis and publication of the results are a separate ICMR operation, and the data are not included in the NFHS-5 datasets.
