Dear Baker,
Some biomarkers need to be transformed from the way they are stored in the dataset in order to get results that make sense. Oftentimes, they are multiplied by some factor of 10 to get at a certain number of decimal places. Look at the DHS Recode Manual on what needs to be done with the BMI variable. My guess, based on your example, is divide by 100, but check the recode manual to be sure.

Here's a link to the DHS-6 recode manual http://dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/DHSG4/Recode6_DHS_22March2013 _DHSG4.pdf. The variables should be transformed in the same way from wave to wave, but use the appropriate recode manual just to be sure.

hth,
RHS
