The indicator requested for addition is 'percentage of people with depression' using the Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ9) as the screening tool.

A World Health Assembly resolution passed in May 2013 has called for a comprehensive, coordinated response to mental disorders at country level making accurate identification and management of depression an important priority. The information collected will contribute towards the Sustainable Development Goals and aligns with the global WHO Mental Health Action Plan 2013-2020.
The information collected on perinatal depression will enable the goals of survive thrive and transform of the Global Strategy on Women, Children's and Adolescents' Health to be monitored at global, regional and country levels.

The date will provide global, regional and country estimates that could be used to mobilise screening, referral, treatment and support for people with depression.
