Hello,

I am working on a project studying Benin and I would like to better understand how the ethnic categories of Benin (such as Fon, Yoruba, Adja, etc) were created. For example, what determines if someone is Fon or Adja when there are smaller ethnic groups (such as the Gun) who would have been classified into one of the pre-existing categories?

Basically, I am interested in how discrete these categories are.

Thank you!

Alli
