Hi,
I'm currently working with Indonesia DHS data and I want to merge DHS data with the Village Census from the Indonesia bureau of Statistics. The Village Census contains village characteristics that are relevant for DHS analysis. I wonder whether I could get access to DHS village/subdistrict location codes so that I can match with the Village Census.
Thanks
Yudo

Hello,
I too am trying to find subdistrict or village level data for all the Indonesia surveys. I noticed on the surveys without GPS coordinates, there was a spot on the survey to enter "village" or "subdistrict". In the country-level questions- there are columns "ssubd" and "svillage" and the answers are numbers. Is there a list somewhere indicating what locations those numbers stand for? I noticed this in both the 2012 and 2007 survey, and we are interested in subregional information for all years of the Indonesia survey.
Thanks!

The numbers used to identify smaller administrative units (any units that are lower than the representative level for the survey) are survey-specific, and do not necessarily align to any official codes. Also, in order to protect respondent confidentiality, we are not able to provide geographic identifiers for any levels lower than the second administrative level.
