I could not understand the construction of the "parity" variable. I would really appreciate your clarification. I think since BIDX and BORD are reverse of each other, we can infer the number of total births given by the mother in her lifetime using these two variables.

However, the same information can be obtained from V201 or V224.

I would really appreciate your help.
