None of the NFHS surveys have information on the actual amount of earnings. NFHS-1, NFHS-2, and NFHS-3 ask respondents who are working whether or not they earn cash for their work (ever-married women age 13-49 in NFHS-1, women age 15-49 in NFHS-2, and women age 15-49 and men age 15-54 in NFHS-3). In addition, NFHS-2 asks women who earn cash about how much their earnings contribute to the total family earnings. NFHS-3 asks married women and men about their relative earnings. There are also some questions on who makes decisions about how the respondent's cash earnings are used. However, none of the NFHS surveys have information on the amount of earnings.
