I have merged the Women's, Men's and HIV dataset. Which weight should I use for bivariate analysis and regression?

Thanks.

The weight you use actually depends on the unit of analysis:

Unit of analysis Variable
Households hv005
Household members hv005
Women or children v005
Men mv005
Domestic Violence d005
HIV test results hiv05

Like other variables in DHS datasets, decimal points are not included in the weight variable. You need to divide the sampling weight by 1,000,000.

For additional information on using weights, please reference The Guide to DHS Statistics [page 12].

I hope this helps.

I know the weights for each dataset. The unit of my analysis is the individual. So when I conduct the data analysis, do I sue the v005, mv005 and hiv005 (the three of them)?

The weight you use actually depends on the unit of analysis:

If unit of analysis is Household, use HV005/1,000,000
if Household members use hv005
if Women or children use v005
if Men use mv005
if Domestic Violence use d005
if HIV test results use hiv05
