Good morning, I am currently working on the Colombia 2010 DHS dataset
I am interested to aggregate some variables by municipality
I analyzed the distribution of the variable shmunip and I found out that
20,804 cases are characterized by a value equal to 1.
the cross-tabulation with region (v024) or dept (shdepto)
and I observed a one to many relation,
whereas I found a one-to-one match when focusing
on region & departments.
I was expecting a sort of multilevel arrangement
region > dept > municipality
Could somebody please explain me in some details
how shuold I interpret these findings or where I am incorrectly
interpreting the meaning of the variables?
Thank you very much for your help

Following is a response from Senior DHS Data Processing Specialist, Noureddine Abderrahim:
The definition of the geographic identification of the household is set by the implementing agency. You may contact the implementing agency of the survey at the address shown in the final report which can be downloaded from the www.DHSprogram.com website.
