Hello Everyone,

I have been working with 2008 and 2013 DHS datasets and have had no trouble linking the Birth and GIS data.

I just started using the 2003 DHS for Nigeria - and on merging noticed that for the GIS data, DHSCLUST (recoded to v001 before merge) ranges from 101 to 2216 (297 unique values), and for the Birth data, v001 ranges from 1 to 365 (362 unique values).

Its unusual that v001 and DHSCLUST do not overlap. And that the ranges are so different.

Can someone clarify why that is? And how to match clusters appropriately given this, perhaps, discordance?

Thanks,

Debby Dibs
