Hi, I need to be able to analyze Somali Region data from the Ethiopia DHS 2011 at the woreda level. Please could someone advise on whether there is a list of Enumeration Area codes by Woreda that I can use? Many thanks.

Enumeration Codes are not shared for DHS surveys. However, the DHS does release GPS locations for surveys such as the Ethiopia DHS 2011 dataset. This can be access on the DHS website through the data access login page.

Please note that the GPS data is for the estimated center of the DHS sruvey cluster (usually corresponding to an EA). However this data is displaced (geogrpahically masked) to protect the confidentiality of survey respondents.

Hi Clara, I have similar question here. I understand why the EA codes shouldn't shared. My data does't require this data either. But, I need to know to which Peasant Association (PA) (or Kebele) each of the EAs belong. This runs the same disclosure risk as geographically masked data, I believe. In most cases, since there are more than one EAs in one PA, sharing the PA data doesn't doesn't run higher disclosure risk than required by DHS. I'm studying how a government program that is rolled-out at PA level is related to people's socio-economic life in Ethiopia. So, I need to link the EAs to their PAs to conduct the analysis. Given this, do you think I can access the PA data? Please let know. Thank you.

Hi Sol,

We can not release any type of geographic information below the second-level units (Zones in Ethiopia) except the GPS points
