Apart from when they were conducted, what is the difference between DLHS-3 (2007-8)and the DLHS -4 (DHS V)conducted between 2005 and 2006?

Here is a response from Technical Deputy Director, Dr. Fred Arnold:
The District Level Household Surveys (DLHS) are not part of the DHS Program and the datasets are not distributed by DHS. Most of the DLHS surveys have been national, but DLHS-4 does not cover a number of large states that are included in the Annual Health Survey (AHS). Information and datasets for DLHS surveys are available through the website of the coordinating agency (the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), which also coordinating the National Family Health Surveys (NFHS) at http://www.rchiips.org/. The DLHS-4 results have recently been released for many states, but the datasets are not yet being distributed.

Thanks very much, Fred. So strictly speaking,to be consistent, if I want to compare trends in time in careseeking for childhood disease for example, I should use DHS-V(November 2005 - August 2006, AKA NFHS-3) with DHS-IV (November 1998 - Dec 1999, AKA NFHS-2) and not the DHLS....
