Hello All,

I am trying to generate a "migrant" variable using the 2013 DHS. I have initially tried this with the 2008 DHS where I used v105(type of place of previous residence) and v025(type of place of residence) and it worked but there are no observations for v105 in the 2013 DHS. Is there any other variable I can use.

I would appreciate your assistance.

Dear User,
I looked at the recode dictionary and the questionnaire for possible country-specific variables for "previous place of residence" but could not find any. In the Nigeria DHS 2013 survey, the question was not asked and there was no country specific variable which could be used for this purpose.
