timing of pregnancy determine the maternal and neonatal outcome which inturn vital for public and clinical implication of maternal and neonatal health.
the objective is
1. to estimate the prevalence of short and long interpregnancy interval
2. to findout the public and clinical implication of short and long interpregnancy interval and maternal and neonatal outcome
Dear DHS expert,i am troubling to findout the prevalence of short and long interpregnancy interval.
the important variable i need to calculate IPI are Last birth to interview and Time since last menstruation. but the variable Time since last birth is NA. so how can i find the interval from 2019 EDHS data? if i consider those who are pregnant i miss the pregnancy outcome, bcs my objective the impact of IPI on maternal and neonatal outcome. please help me

Hi Bacha,
You should work with b11 rather than trying to reconstruct from "time since last menstruation." That way, you capture both maternal and neonatal outcomes from completed pregnancies and can classify IPI into short/optimal/long groups.

thank you for your help I don't know how to thank you.Right now i have two basic questions
1. can we say interpregnancy interval and preceding birth interval are the same?
2. one of my objective is to evaluate the public and clinical implication of short and long IPI on maternal and neonatal outcome. accordingly there are about five dependent variable such as birth weight, maternal anemia, postparthum hemorrage, ect.and independent variables are short and long IPI,sex of last birth, survival status of last birth, maternal age at birth, etc. therefore can i use wighted cox regression model inorder to evaluate the impact of short and long IPI on maternal and neonatal outcome?
Thank you
