Hi all,

I'm working with the 2023 DHS data for Jordan to apply the Global MPI and have run into a challenge while merging the KR (children's recode) with the PR (household member recode), which I'm using as the master file.

The issue is that the PR file only includes living household members, while the KR file includes both living and deceased children. I need data on deceased children to construct a child mortality indicator. However, since the PR is at the household member level and the KR is at the child level, I'm unsure how to combine them effectively, unless I calculate two separate MPIs (e.g., one for children under 5, and one for others).

Has anyone dealt with this issue or found a workaround? Any advice would be much appreciated.
