I am analyzing the Nepal NDHS 2022 dataset and need to separate female household heads into two categories:

De jure heads: Women who are the recognized, usual heads of their households.

De facto heads: Women who are temporarily acting as heads due to circumstances (e.g., spouse's absence, migration, or separation).
Could anyone advise on:

-Is there a direct variable in the HR or IR files that identifies this distinction?

-If there is no direct variable, what would be the best approach to derive this information?
