Hello,

I'm constructing a dummy for post-neonatal mortality (infants between 28 days and one year old) as follows:

g PNM = 0
replace PNM = 1 if b7>=1 & b7<=12

Should I use b6 as it gives us the number of days?

g PNM = 0
replace PNM = 1 if b6>=28 & b6<=301

I'm using b7 for other types of mortality. Does it make a big difference if I use b6 for some and b7 for others?
