What blood pressure measurement protocol/guideline was followed by the Bangladesh Demographic & Health Survey 2017-18? What about the positioning of the participants during BP measurement?

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

The protocol for all the biometry in all DHS surveys is completely consistent with WHO guidelines. The interview teams include one or two members who are specially trained and usually do nothing other than biometry. The following link to the website may be helpful:

The manual does not include the blood pressure measurement. Where could we find it?

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

In the Bangladesh 2017-18 survey, the blood pressure measurements are in the PR file (BDPR7RFL.dta). They are among the variables with names that begin with "sb3".

In general, to find the blood pressure variables, it usually works to open the data file and enter "lookfor pressure" or "lookfor systolic".
