Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:
For NFHS-5 in India, blood spots were collected from a subsample of NFHS-5 respondents on filter paper cards for Vitamin D3, HbA1c, and malaria parasites. The blood on those filter paper cards was dried and sent for analysis to two separate laboratories (in Pune and Delhi) that are part of the Indian Council on Medical Research (ICMR). The results of those tests were not provided to IIPS and the data were not made available to IIPS. We have not seen any of the results in published form either. Those results are not available in the NFHS-5 datasets.
