How to calculate the anaemia level (any, mild, moderate, severe) as per new WHO cutoffs of haemoglobin in NFHS-2. For NFHS-3, 4, and 5, the variable v457 (anaemia level) is used. However, no such variable is yet available for NFHS-2. Do we need to create anaemia levels ourselves using s902(haemoglobin levels), or is there any other way available?

You're right -- since NFHS-2 doesn't have a direct variable like v457, you'll need to calculate anaemia levels manually using s902 (haemoglobin levels). Just apply the WHO cutoff points for different severity levels (any, mild, moderate, severe) adjusted for factors like age, sex, and pregnancy status.
