Hi DHS forum,

I am looking at Bangladesh: Standard DHS, 1997 (BDIR3AFL.DTA). For variable v376, I found that over 10% responses belong to the 'other' category. I looked back to the DHS Phase 3 questionnaire ( https://dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/DHSQ3/DHS-III-Model-A.pdf.pd f) page 65, the 'other' category comes with a 'please specify' option. I don't think DHS recode file has this 'other--please specify' data (presumably text responses). I wonder if this 'other--please specify' data is public anywhere, for any country?
