Hi,

I am Heejin Yang from Korea Univeristy, pursuing an MPH degree in Global and Community Health.

I am hoping to utilize the 2022 UDHS data for my research. Whereas I could find some short reports and briefs published by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, stating that 2022 UDHS has been conducted, I couldn't find any raw dataset that I can analyze.

I wonder if you could provide with me any plan or date related to the data release of the 2022 UDHS. It will be of great help for me to see the feasibility of my research plan.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Unfortunately, the survey that was planned for Uganda in 2022 was cancelled. It never happened, and it has not been re-scheduled. I hope a different survey will meet your needs.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

However, I found that Uganda Bureau of Statistics published some key findings of UDHS 2022 in September 2023 as the link below:

The findings include specific numbers surveyed by the UDHS 2022.

I wonder if the information provided is not derived from the DHS program and if DHS is not aware of the reports in case the survey planned was cancelled.

This report from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics website ( https://www.ubos.org/uganda-demographic-and-health-survey-ud hs-2022-key-findings/) describes a survey as the 7th in the DHS series in Uganda: https://www.ubos.org/wp-content/uploads/publications/09_2023 UDHS_2022_Key_Findings_Presentation_A.pdf

Can you confirm that this survey is not part of the DHS program?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

ICF provided technical assistance in planning the 2022 UDHS, and some of the training. ICF concluded our technical assistance before data collection was completed. As noted, UBOS has released some findings from the survey. At this time The DHS Program does not plan to release the data or report on our website. Please contact UBOS for access to the data.
