Good afternoon,

The Guideline on haemoglobin cutoffs to define anaemia in individuals and populations has recently been published (March, 2024).

In that sense, you could help us by sharing the calculation of the percentage of children (6 to 59 months) with anemia.

Considering the new adjustment equation, based on altitude, make said adjustment and the new cut-off points for children from 6 to 23 months to define anemia. If applicable, if they consider some length of residence as an inclusion criterion to apply the adjustment.

This is for the purpose of comparability.

Thank you so much

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:
Are you asking DHS to re-calculate the percentages of children age 6-59 (or 6-23) months in future DHS reports? On STATcompiler? I expect this will come up in discussions with USAID and WHO.
