Unless I miss, the Mauritania DHS 2019-2021 report does not include the description of the sampling non-Mauritanian populations.
How the Mauritania DHS 2019-2021 treats refugees and asylum seekers in their sampling?
If they fulfill the criteria of eligible households to be sampled, are they included in the survey, even those in the refugee camps and outside of them?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

This survey, like nearly all DHS surveys, was restricted to the household population. Many DHS surveys do include a question on ethnicity, but this one did not. Households that consisted of, or included, displaced persons or refugees would not have been treated any differently from other households, and there is nothing to identify such households or persons in the data files.
