Dear All,

Wanted to confirm if v021 the variable indicating the primary sampling unit (PSU)?

If yes, is each value of v021 unique? In other words, can I directly use it in the regression (child level observation; all states included) to cluster Standard Errors at PSU level?

Thank you,

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Yes, v021 (which is a duplicate of v001) is the unique ID for cluster in this survey--and in all DHS surveys, so far as I know.
