Hi. Does anyone know if the DHS collects household health expenditure data? I have already downloaded the dataset and check all the module. I couldn't find the, However, in the website, it says, "The DHS Program also collects data using other types of surveys and questionnaires. These include surveys of education, health service providers, communities, household health expenditures, young adults, and others. These data are also available, but there are no recode definitions for them" What does this mean? Do I have to request separately?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Go to the home page (www.dhsprogram.com) and click on "Methodology" on the upper right. In the drop down menu, click on "Survey Characteristics Search". Then click on the dark blue bar "Select Survey Characteristics". Under "Features" you will find a box for "Health Expenditures". That will lead you to a list of 43 surveys. Let us know if you have more questions.
