Following is a response from Senior Data Processing Specialist, Claudia Marchena:

I have identified a match between the raw and the recode for the variables you are looking for, assuming these variables are the ones from the Delivery and Newborn Service Section (I believe the infection control items are for the Delivery and Newborn Service Section inside the Inventory Questionnaire). Here are my findings:

• A1521_9 "Hand-washing soap" from KEFCM5AFLSP is found in the recode in variable V531C ((KEFC5BFLSR).

• A1521_11 "Water for hand washing" from KEFCM5AFLSP.DTA is found in the recode file in three variables, V531A, V531A1, and V531B (KEFC5BFLSR), because it is constructed by recoding it together with I522. Adding these three variables together will get the sum of A1521_11.

As you continue with your analysis, please reference the Excel map file (within the .zip file you downloaded) for details on recoding of the variables between the raw and the recode data files. In this case it was difficult to find, because in this file (KEFCM5AFLSP) the variable was named "A1521" but it is named I521A(9) in the Excel mapping file (like it is in the instrument/questionnaire).
