I would like to know what the number of selected households is for RDHS 2019-2020.
According to the Introduction and Table A.5, the total of households selected is 13000.
However, according to the Table A.6 and Table 1.1, number of sampled households is 13,005. Why are the numbers different? How should I understand this?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:
What actually matters is the number of households in the standard recode files (the HR and PR files), which is 12,949. I would interpret 13,000 as the target number of households in the sample design, 13,005 as the number in the raw data, and 12, 949 as the number after removing some households because of vacancies, refusals, or other possible problems that would have been documented during fieldwork. For statistical purposes, 12,949 is the sample size (described in terms of number of households).
