Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

The reports on these surveys include tables for this indicator. Stata code to construct the standard indicators is given on our GitHub site (https://github.com/DHSProgram). There have been many postings related to this indicator for various DHS surveys, including the India surveys.

If you are having difficulty matching an indicator, please identify a specific table in a specific report that you cannot match. We may or may not be able to help.

The NFHS-2 woman's questionnaire does not include any questions on postpartum care. Consequently, there are no tables in the NFHS-2 final report that have an indicator for postpartum care. For any NFHS survey, you should first check the woman's questionnaire to see what (if any) questions there are related to postpartum care. For example, the questions on postpartum care are very different in NFHS-4 and NFHS-5.
