Hello,

I would like to understand how to merge the FW (field worker file) with KR (kids file) for India? The FW file has been provided for NFHS 5. However, I am unable to locate the common identifiers using which we can merge the Fieldworker file with the other files in the datasets. Kindly help.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

In the FW file, the ID code for the fieldworker is fw101. In the KR file (as in the IR file) the ID code for the main interviewer is v028 and for the biomarker measurer it is v420. You can merge by sorting and matching fw101 with v028 (or with v420 for the biomarker variables). These are standard ID codes in all the surveys that include fieldworker files.
