Hello,

The DHS website states that the Vietnam 2005 Standard AIS includes a men's survey but when I click on the "Data Available" link, I only see Household, Individual, Household Member, and HIV files. Is the men's file available to download?

Thank you,
Candas

Vietnam 2005 is an AIDS Indicator Survey (AIS). In an AIS, after all of the eligible respondents in a household have been identified, we use the Individual Questionnaire to interview both the woman and man. The questions are worded to be neutral so that they can be asked to either a woman or a man. When a question cannot be worded in a neutral fashion, appropriate language is provided in the questionnaire for a female or male respondent.

As a result of using the same questionnaire, the individual recode data contains the men and women (in the same data file). While doing your analysis, you will have to use a variable called AIDSEX to determine the sex of the respondent or to filter out the sex that you are not interested in.

I hope this answers your question.
