Differences in R results and DHS report [message #26975]

I am currently working on breastfeeding initiation time. I have noticed quite a lot of discrepancies between my results using R and the DHS report. What could be the reason why? For example, the report says 2100 children were born in the 2 years preceding the survey and were used for the m34 variable. However, I find that in R, there are 3725 complete responses and the rest are not applicable. The report prevalence is 28% and mine is 24%. Why is this so? What am I doing wrong?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Users are asked to say which survey they are using. If you are referring to numbers in a specific table in the final report, please say which table.

The software you use will have no effect on how many cases are in a file.
