Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Which survey are you using? This has to be done separately for each survey because you can't be sure which columns of whhid are assigned to hv001 and hv002 without unpacking whhid. Examples have been given before but I can show the strategy if you specify one such survey.
