Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to merge different round of DHS to know how a unit of analysis (let's say a specific woman) have evolved over the years with respect to specific variables. is it possible? the ID will be the same over the years for the same woman?

Thank you and sorry for the confusion!

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

DHS surveys in the same country are just as independent of each other as surveys in different countries. The households and clusters are not repeated, although the same ID codes (for example, 1, 2, 3, etc.) may be re-used. You cannot follow specific individuals or households or clusters in successive surveys.
