I am using the DHS datasets for the Ethiopia survey year 2016 (the recode file (ETKR71F) with the GPS dataset (ETGE71FL) and the geospatial covariate dataset (ETGC72FL) using the cluster number (hv001). I have tried to search in the forum for an answer to the following questions but I didn't find the specific answer and explanation I was looking for. I wonder if you have any suggestions:

1. How to link or match DHS clusters from 2016 with GPS files?
Also, do you know where I could find information about how to use GPS datasets (for example where it says if matching id is possible?)

2. If (1) is possible, I wonder if I could match clusters to regions.
Thank you for your help!
Kind regards,

To merge the GPS data and the recode file, you will need to aggregate your recode data at the cluster level. The cluster ID variable is called v001 in the individual (women's) recode and hv001 in the household recode. In the GPS dataset, the cluster number is stored in the DHSCLUST variable.

Also, it is indeed possible to link the GPS dataset and data at the regional level. The GPS data contains one or two administrative levels that correspond to the levels at which the survey is representative. The administrative names are stored in the ADM1NAME and DHSREGNA variables.
