I have notices that in Cameroon DHS 1991 "Children_record" the variable v002 which is supposed to show the household ID's has NO observations.
Is there any other way that I can access the household ID's in this data set? Thanks.

Following is a response from DHS staff member Tom Pullum:

In this survey, use smenage in place of v002. There is also a variable smmenage, and if doing a merge you may need to use both smenage and smmenage. In some early Francophone Africa surveys, including this one, a distinction was made for "sub" households.

To find a survey-specific variable such as this in Stata, you can do a search with "find house", for example.
