I want to merge the household level data with men and women dataset (NFHS 5 - India). But there are missing members from the household level data who are present in the individual level. Please clarify how this is possible.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

All of the women in the IR file, and all of the men in the MR file, are also in PR file. There are no exceptions. Are you using the full identifiers for cases? The identifier in the PR file would be hv024 hv001 hv002 hvidx; in the IR file, v024 v001 v002 v003, and in the MR file, mv024 mv001 mv002 mv003.
