Hi all
I was doing a study on prevalence of Diarrhea and its association with Household Factors and Education of Mothers. I am using SPSS. This is the first time i am handling such big amount of data. My query is:

As the variables I need to perform Multiple regression on are in different dataset files, How do I match the corresponding entries in 3 data sets that are: Household Dataset, Children Dataset, Individual Dataset and combine or merge these variables into single file. Any help will be really appreciated. Most of the posts here are on STATA but I am using SPSS.

Thanks in advance

Following is response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

You only need to use the KR file, which has children as units. In that file, H11 is the indicator of diarrhea in the past two weeks. Virtually all of the mother's variables are included on the child's record. V106 is the mother's education, for example. Many household variables are also included. For example, V190 is wealth quintile. V024 is region, V025 is urban/rural residence. If you need other household variables, for example those related to water and sanitation, you can get them by merging V001, V002, V003 in the KR file with Hv001, HV002, HVIDX in the PR file.
